Solidatus

Overview

Solidatus is a commercial lineage platform aimed at regulated industries, where lineage has to stand up as evidence rather than simply be interesting. It differs from most lineage tooling in that the lineage is a model you author and govern, not only a graph harvested from logs.

Metadata comes in through more than 60 connectors covering cloud platforms, databases, ETL tools, BI tools and mainframes, and through SQL and stored-procedure parsing. Anything not covered can be modelled by hand in a visual editor, pulled in through the REST API, or extracted by its AI assistant from documents and spreadsheets.

Models carry more than tables and columns. Ownership, stewardship, risk ratings, regulatory classifications and PII flags attach to nodes, so a lineage map doubles as a control map. Overlays exist for BCBS 239, DORA, the EU AI Act and GDPR, with audit packs generated from the model.

Two mechanics stand out. Version control works like code: branches, forks, pull requests, approvals and diffs. And versioning is bi-temporal, tracking both when something was true and when it was recorded, so you can reconstruct the estate as it stood at a past reporting date, or model a future state before committing to it.

It consumes OpenLineage events from tools such as Spark and stitches them into the governed model, and it works alongside catalogues rather than replacing them: it is Microsoft Purview's named lineage integration partner and also integrates with Collibra, Alation and Informatica. Customers named on its site include LSEG, BNY, Deutsche Bank, HSBC and ABN AMRO.
