What is collected
Newsletter sign-ups
If you subscribe, the site stores your email address, the page you signed up from, the date, and the exact consent wording shown to you. That is the whole record: there is no name, no profile and no tracking of what you open. It is used only to send the newsletter.
Server logs
The hosting platform records ordinary request logs, which include IP addresses, so the site can be kept running and abuse can be spotted. These are kept for a short period and are not used to build a profile of you.
Cookies and analytics
Only cookies the site needs are set without asking: for people who sign in to the content management system, and for the admin theme preview. Your cookie choice itself is remembered in your browser’s local storage.
With your permission, the site uses Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are useful. It is off until you press Accept in the cookie banner: before that, nothing from Google loads. If you accept, Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_<id> (kept for up to two years) and records the pages you visit, how you arrived, your approximate location (country or city), your device and browser, and actions such as a newsletter sign-up or an event registration click. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. The data is kept for 14 months, is not used for advertising, and is not combined with the newsletter list. You can withdraw at any time with Cookie settings in the footer; the analytics cookies are then removed.
No advertising cookies are set. Podcast episodes can be played through YouTube or Spotify; their players load only when you press play, and may then set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.

- Google Analytics: your consent, given in the cookie banner. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Server logs and security: legitimate interests in keeping the site available and secure.
How long it is kept
Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for removal, and are deleted within 30 days of that request. Server logs are kept for a short operational period and then discarded.
Who else sees it
The site runs on Microsoft Azure in the United Kingdom, which processes data on our behalf as the hosting provider. If you accept analytics, Google processes that usage data for us; it may be handled outside the UK under Google’s standard data protection terms. If an email delivery service is introduced for the newsletter, this notice will name it. Your data is never sold, and it is not shared with the vendors covered on this site.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, withdraw consent, or object to processing. Email admin@unifieddataplatform.com and it will be handled within one month. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
